Tammy S. Stanford, 56, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Mosaic Life Care.
She was born November 17, 1959 in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Tammy was an avid Chief’s and Nascar fan, tended bar, was in various dart leagues and loved to camp and garden, but most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Stanford; parents, Jerry and Mary (Leidy) Bunton; and brother, Jimmy.
Survivors include children, Brandi Thurston, Michole Stanford, Samantha Stanford (Dace Martin), Michael Stanford, Jr. (Amanda), Tony Stanford, and Regan and Corey Guinn; significant other, Roger Guinn; grandchildren, Sidney, Brody, Riley, Jade, Ashton, Kaitlin, Hailey, Lacey, Chloe, M.J. III, and Logan; sister, Annette Coats; and brothers, Jack Graham and Jack Fraizer.

Sharon K. (Humbert) James, 68, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016.
She was born September 13, 1948 in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Sharon married Charles Henry James January 31, 1970, he precedes her in death.
She was a former member of King Hill Methodist Church, and currently attended St. James Catholic Church. Sharon was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi and Daughters of Revolution.
Sharon was also preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Christina (Hahn) Humbert.
Survivors include cousins, John Humbert Sr. (Phyllis), Michael Hanrahan (Nancy); close friends, Matt Mereness (Denise); and dog, Pepper.

Amy Renee Seek
1971-2016

Amy R. Seek, 45, of Saint Joseph, Missouri passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Mosaic Life Care from lung cancer. She was born April 9, 1971 in St. Joseph, MO. She spent her career serving people, which brought her much joy at Adams Grill, Hoof & Horn, and retiring from Frederick Inn due to her health. She loved her family, friends, neighbors with all her heart and would support them with every little muscle.
She was preceded in death by her father, Terry Seek. Surviving, her parents, Gary & Kathleen Lewis, step-mother, Linda Seek, daughters, Shelby Seek (Justin Kimler), and Karlee Seek, grandchildren, Liam & Hayden Kimler, sisters, Natalie Sisk and Yvette Snapp (Bob Barger), nieces & nephews, Kelsee Seek (Azealynn & Knoxx), Kylynn Sisk, Samanatha & Donnie Bowlin (Rhys), Cole Snapp and faithful friend, Christie Barron.

Danny was preceded in death by his daughter, Dana, sister, Fay Graves, and his parents. Marcia J. Turpin, 74, Atchison, Kansas died early Thursday, November 17, 2016 at her home.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Chaplain Ryan Van Peursem officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery. Marcia was born December 9, 1941 in Atchison, Kansas the daughter of William H. and Florence Hammond Harrison. She attended Franklin Elementary School, graduating from Atchison High School.
Marcia served in the dietary department as a cook for USD #409 at the Washington School for several years in Atchison.
She and Ronald Gene Turpin were united in marriage on November 23, 1963 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Atchison.
In her spare time Marcia enjoyed bowling, attending national bowling tournaments for several years. She also enjoyed the time she could spend with family, especially her precious grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Marcia is survived by her husband, Ron Turpin, of the couple’s home in Atchison, three daughters, Cyndi Deckard, DeCatur, IL; Denise (John) Pace, Atchison, KS; Shanise A. Martin, Chehalis, WA; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill & Florence Harrison, and a brother, Dwight Cowan.

Cawood “Duwayne” House
1922-2016

Cawood “Duwayne” House 94, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Abby Woods Health Care Center in Saint Joseph, Missouri. He was born August 9, 1922 in Cawood, MO, son of Mary and William House. He graduated from Rosendale, Mo high school. He married Mildred Manship on June 25, 1950 in Maryville, MO. He served in the Navy and is a veteran of the World War II. He and his wife owned House Construction Company for 40 years. He built and remodeled many houses during that time. He enjoyed fishing, bird watching, and camping. Duwayne was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Duwayne was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Genevieve Schilknecht, and brother, Wilbur House. Survivors include his wife Mildred, daughter, Devera (Donald) Lambing of St. Joseph, MO, daughter, Linda Sue (Mark) Wolf of Arnold, MO, son, Rick (Kerri) House of Faucett, MO, daughter, Sandra Lance of Rushville, MO, eight, grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
Funeral services; 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Wesley United Methodist Church, Rev. James Barnett officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the church Saturday. Sylvia L. “Toni” Shimer 76, of Saint Joseph, Missouri passed away Thursday November 17, 2016 at Mosaic Life Care in Saint Joseph, MO. She was born January 26, 1940 in St. Joseph, Missouri daughter of Louise & William Cordonnier. She attended Covent of Sacred Heart. She worked in Omaha, NE & Wichita, KS as a Meat Cutter, and as a Bartender in St. Joseph. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, dancing and her faith was very important to her. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church. Toni was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Leroy Shimer, her parents, one son, Donald Easter, brothers, Lawrence “Tinker” Cordonnier, William Cordonnier, and Clinton Sullivan, sisters, Betty Huemader, Dorothy Osteen, and Mary Louise Mueller. She is survived by children, Sabrina Shunk (Alfred) of St. Joseph, MO, Kelly (Doug) Schmeidler of Wichita, KS, Chrissy (John) Rosenthal of Omaha, NE, Donna (Calvin) Miller of Omaha, NE, David (Cheryl) Easter, St. Joseph, MO, Wayne (Shiela) Wilson of St. Joseph, MO, Jason (Denise) Wilson of Columbia, MO, Stephanie Wilson of Saint Joseph, MO, 31 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, sisters, Carol Vanscoy of St. Joseph, MO, Theresa (Marvin) Blackwell of St. Joseph, MO, Monica (John) Purdy of St. Joseph, MO, and numerous nieces & nephews. Allan H. Lowenberg
1918-2016

Allan H. Lowenberg, 97, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Thursday, November 17, 2016 at a local healthcare facility.
He was the son of Nannette (Haber) and Leo Lowenberg born on December 10, 1918.
At Central High he was a member of the National Honor Society and Quill and Scroll. He was an avid writer, attended Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois. He was on the sports staff of their daily paper.
In 1940, he took over management of the LaMode ladies clothing store downtown, St. Joseph. He was drafted in mid-1941 and served with the 7th Infantry Division for four and a half years and awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart among other decorations. In 1943 he received a five day pass and married Enid Heiten in Reno. After discharge he returned to LaMode and in 1947 he and Enid purchased the store.
He served on many local committees and organizations including United Way, Social Welfare Board, president of the Downtown Association, Youth Alliance, high school and college baseball umpire, Little League later Boys Baseball, track meet official. With Dr. Tom Potter they investigated the possibility of Tarkio College moving to St. Joseph. This became the forerunner of Missouri Western State University. He was the founder of S-C-O-R-E. He was on the boards of Civic Music, Kiwanis, Community Chest, White House Conference for Juveniles, Community Welfare Council and Interserve. He was a Hi-Y sponsor and umpire-in-chief of Ban Johnson Baseball.
He received two national and four state awards for his volunteering. He was a two term president and served 40 years as a religious school teacher and principal at Temple Adath Joseph. From 1963-1965 he was national chairman of NAIA College Baseball World Series in St. Joseph. With his community connections and his recruitment support from Major League Baseball, he turned a profit for the tournament for the first time. He was in charge of pitchers at the Atlanta Braves try-out camps held here.
Allan retired in February of 1986 and three days later became a volunteer tutor for all grades at Edison Elementary, his former grade school. He amassed in excess of 25 years and 25,000 hours and touched countless hearts and minds and gained the title of “Guardian Angel”. He also taught summer school annually at all three high schools. He was proud that both of his children received masters degrees. He was Most Proud that his granddaughter is a school teacher in Denver, Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Enid Lowenberg, parents; and sister, Nancy.
Survivors include his daughter, Linda Brecher (Alan) of Sedona, Arizona; son, Brent Lowenberg (Linda) of Columbia; and granddaughter, Maggie Lowenberg of Denver, Colorado.

Jacob “Jake” Clayton
1996-2016

Jacob “Jake” Clayton, 19, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Thursday, November 17, 2016 at a local hospital.
He was born December 25, 1996 to Mark Clayton and Tarri Salcedo.
Jake was a welder and was currently working for Herzog.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and singing to all his favorite country songs. He always strived to be the best provider for his family, and the best father for his son Liam. Jake had a smile that would light up the room and always had something good to say about everyone. Jake loved spending time with his little brother Zakery, as their mother would say they were “two peas in a pod”. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Manuel Salcedo Sr, Otto Clayton; and aunt Lynn Clayton.
Survivors include son, Liam; significant other, Antigone Easton; father, Mark and Jessica Clayton, mother, Tarri Salcedo; brothers, Zakery Clayton, Brennan Howe, Logan and Levi Clevenger; sisters, Jazlyn Ewing and Makyla Spears; grandparents, Joan Clayton, Derek and Diane Archey, Perry and Connie McLeod; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
