Once Upon a Child plans to close its store in St. Joseph after 17 years in operation.

In a post on Facebook owner Julie Woods said she is closing the store to move on to a slower lifestyle of semi-retirement.

“My children have grown (they were under 5 when I opened) and my needs and life direction has changed in the last 17 years,” Woods said. “Thank you for the wonderful experience of serving you – it has been the highlight of my life.”

Woods said the store will be closings in a few months.
