Fireman injured, fire truck totaled in crash during fire response

MSHP badge goldA firefighter suffered serious injuries, and his fire truck was a total loss after a traffic accident during a fire response in central Missouri Saturday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Kenneth McCune, 57, of Moberly, was responding to a fire in a Ford F750 fire truck at 12:38 p.m.

The vehidle left Business Highway 63 at the Renick city limits, hit a culvert and overturned. The truck then struck a sign and ejected McCune.

McCune was transported by Randolph County ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment of serious injuries.
