Traffic investigators say a blown tire caused a fatality accident on I-35 in northeastern Kansas Friday afternoon.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reports Robin Lynn Price, of Kansas City, Missouri, was driving a Kia Sorento along I-35 northeast of Ottawa in Franklin County at 3pm Friday.

The crash report says the rear driver-side tire blew. Price lost control of the vehicle, which rolled into oncoming traffic where it came to rest on its roof.

Price, 55, was killed in the crash

The report says a passenger was injured. Timeke Simone Gibson, 26, of Shawnee, Kansas, was transported to Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
