(Update) Two charged after traffic stop led to drug bust in Andrew County

Two people were due in court Tuesday after their arrest on drug charges during a traffic stop.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said in a news release that a trooper stopped a Nissan Sentra on I-29 in Andrew County at 7am Sunday, March 5. The trooper conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle, which officials say revealed eight pounds of marijuana, ecstasy pills, and $5000 dollars in US Currency.

The pair were each charged Monday with six felony and two misdemeanor drug and paraphernalia charges, according to online court records. Michael L. Nelson, 22, of Omaha, Nebraska, and Miya A. Jackson, 20, of California, are scheduled to appear in court Tuesday before Associate Circuit Judge Michael Ordnung.
