Much quieter conditions are on tap today; however, very dry air behind yesterday’s storm system will fuel very high fire danger this afternoon. A Red Flag warning is in effect for many of the Plains states this afternoon, meaning that burning is not recommended. Cooler temperatures are ahead for the weekend, and a brush of snow is even possible by early Saturday morning. Here’s the 7-day forecast from the National Weather Service:
