St. Joseph man injured after swerving to avoid deer

wpid-mshp-logo111.jpgA crash in Andrew County sent a St. Joseph man to the hospital Wednesday night.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Daniel Leslie, 37 was driving a 1995 Chevrolet Silverado southbound on Route H around 11:45 p.m. just two miles south of Fillmore when he swerved to avoid hitting a deer. Leslie’s vehicle then went off the east side of the road and hit an embankment. Leslie was transported by ambulance to Mosaic Life Care for treatment of what was described as a moderate injury.

He was not reported to be wearing a seat belt.
