Raymond Leroy Tracy Sr.
1944-2017

Raymond Leroy Tracy Sr. 72, of Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away at his home Sunday, April 23, 2017. He was born August 3, 1944 in St. Joseph, MO, son of Lydia (Locklin) and John Tracy. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Malinda Tracy, son, Raymond “Ray Ray” Tracy, Jr., brothers, John, Archie, Tommie, Charles and David Tracy, sisters, Joy Christofferson, Juanita “Skeet” Adair, Mary Guinn, Linda Baker, and Pat Coffee. Survivors include10 children: daughters, Delonna (Mike Burgess) Ruth Tracy (David Ellis), Melinda Norton-O’Dell, Christina Tracy, Tiffany Van Houton, Barbie Tracy, Mary Johnson, sons, Robert (Stephanie) Tracy, Jeremy Tracy, and Shawn (Misti) Tracy, brothers, Cliff (Carol) Tracy, Mike (Hazel) Tracy, sisters; Louise Hamilton, and Shelia Hatfield. 24 grandchilden/l 19 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm on Saturday, at the Rupp Funeral Home. The Inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorials are requested to the Raymond Tracy memorial fund in care of the Rupp Funeral Home.

Rudolph A. “Rudy” Siskey
1925-2017

Rudolph A. “Rudy” Siskey, 91, of St. Joseph, Missouri, having formerly lived in Sunflower Village while he attended KU, and Richmond, Missouri passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Mosaic Life Care.
He was born May 4, 1925 to Carl and Louise (Rau) Siskey in Buchanan County.
He married Elaine Matthews, Lafayette High School Sweetheart, on August 12, 1947 and worked as an engineer for Southwestern Bell Telephone.
Mr. Siskey proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was stationed in the South Pacific.
He was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral Catholic Church, Boy Scouts of America as a Cub and Scout Master, American Legion, VFW, Kiwanis, International Right of Way Association, and Knights of Columbus 4th Degree and delivered Meals-on-Wheels.
Rudolph loved to travel and camp and enjoyed travel tours. He and his wife enjoyed painting pictures in their retirement years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Jack Siskey.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Elaine Siskey of the home; daughter, Janie Simon (Rod), Sahuarita, Arizona; son, Chip Siskey (Peggy), Platte City, Missouri; grandchildren, Christopher Simon (Christy), Kyle Simon (Dana), Alex Breitenbach (Elissa), and Emily and Elizabeth Siskey; great grandchildren, Eric Simon and Kellen Albert Simon; sister, Mary Frances Anderson; five nephews and three nieces.
Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 A.M. Friday, St. Joseph Cathedral Catholic Church. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. Parish Rosary 6:00 P.M. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, where the family will gather with friends 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday. Wanda Mae Knox McClarnon Munyon
1922-2017

Wanda Mae Knox McClarnon Munyon, 95, passed away on 23 April 2017 at the Hiawatha Community Hospital, after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family.

Wanda is survived by Children: Jerry Ann (Roland) Brees, Fairview, Kansas, Jim (Diana) McClarnon, Perry, Georgia and Kathy McClarnon, Hiawatha, Kansas and a sister: Alma Louise Richards, Enid, Oklahoma.

Grandchildren: William (Christine) McClarnon, Orlando, Florida; Shani Webb, Sterling, Colorado; Robin (Justin) Forte, Lee’s Summit, Missouri; Mindy (Nathan) Huning, Morrill; Megan (Chris) McCook, Perry, Georgia; Justin Webb, Buena Vista, Colorado, and 10 Great-grandchildren

Preceded in death by: husband, Harlen James McClarnon, 1976, second husband, Warren Lee Munyon, 1991; Parents: Arthur & Hazel Knox (1965 – 1951); Twin Brother,Warren Irvin Knox, 1988; and Brother, Alvin Arthur Knox, 1999.

Wanda was a charter member of Colonial Dames in the Wichita Chapter and a member of the Eunice Sterling Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution. She volunteered many hours at the Midwest Historical and Genealogical Society. Wanda really enjoyed the family research and wrote and published three books. Warren passed away in 1991 and several years later she moved to Hiawatha to be near her two daughters, a granddaughter and three great-grandchildren.

Born at home in South Haven on 1 February 1922. Wanda and twin brother, Warren, and brother and sister twins (Alvin and Alma) grew up on a farm 2 miles North of the Oklahoma border. One of her favorite memories was their pony, Billy. They all rode him and they also rode together in a cart that her Uncle Virgil had made.

Education: Graduated from South Haven High School in 1941 with a graduating class of 33 and attended American Business College in Wichita.

The farm Wanda grew up on was adjoining her Grandparents farm (Irvin & Docia Belle). Between the two they provided all the meat and vegetables they needed during the depression. Wanda’s Mother was a firm believer that the girls work inside and not work the farm and the boys worked outside.

Wanda and Harlen knew each other in High School and were reacquainted in Wichita and were married, February 21, 1942. They were married in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wichita with Harlen’s Brother, Thomas (Bus) & Sister in law, Elva standing up for them. Wanda didn’t have a dress so she was married in a dress borrowed from Elva. Her parents read in the Kingman, Kansas, paper that they had applied for a marriage license and were quite upset. Wanda had told her parents that she would finish school before she and Harlen were married but they didn’t wait.

After they were married they moved to Downing, California, in Orange County when he joined the Merchant Marines. Wanda worked for Douglas Aircraft in the purchasing department until Harlen got out of the Merchant Marines in 1945. During this time Wanda lived with Jessie & Mattie McClarnon, Harlen’s parents. Jessie raised white rabbits and Wanda learned to like fried rabbit. When they left California, Wanda was pregnant with Jerry who was born November 8th, 1945 in Wellington, Kansas.

Harlen got a job at Santa Fe Trail upon their return to Wichita. They went on to have Jim, born Dec 18th, 1946 and Kathy born Dec. 5th, 1951. Wanda worked at Boeing in the purchasing dept. for a short time. After that she was a stay at home Mom until after the kids were raised. After the kids left the home Wanda decided to return to work and was employed by Delaney, Johnston & Priest Insurance Company in down town Wichita. The family attended Mt Vernon Methodist Church.

Harlen passed away 2 years after his open-heart surgery, December 22, 1976. Wanda wanted to get everything done before Christmas for the Grand kids so the visitation was December 23rd and the funeral service was in South Haven, Kansas, on Dec. 24th.

One of Wanda’s classmates, Warren Munyon, was back from CA to visit his Dad and heard of Harlen’s passing. He called Wanda and they began seeing each other. They ended up getting married April 29th, 1978 in Wichita. Wanda sold her house, packed up and moved to Orange Co. CA. Through a mutual decision they moved back to Wichita and bought a home in West Wichita on Valley View. Warren worked out of their home as an Accountant doing taxes.

Wanda enjoyed bowling through the years with Harlen and many of his Santa Fe buddies. Wanda also enjoyed crocheting. Wanda really enjoyed the family research. She wrote and published three books …. A wonderful documentation for the family. She and Warren planned many vacations around their genealogy research.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, 28 April at Rose Hill Cemetery, South Haven, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Midwest Historical Society and Genealogical Society, 1203 N. Main, Wichita, Kansas 67203

Anna Marie Curnutt
1963-2017

Anna Marie Curnutt, 54, of Saint Joseph, Missouri passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017 at her home. She was born March 20, 1963 in St. Joseph, Missouri, daughter of the late Laura & Walter Curnutt. She graduated from Lafayette High School and Platte Gard Business College. She worked at the Citadel Nursing Home for several years as a CNA. She was a very good homemaker, loved sports, especially the Kansas City Royals and the Kansas City Chiefs, car races, and gambling at the boat. Anna was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Robert and Kevin Curnutt, and a sister, Linda Meers. She is survived by her companion, Bradley Thornton of the home, sons Damien (Tiffany) Curnutt and Colby Thornton, 5 grandchildren, several cousins, two brothers, Alan (Tina) Curnutt and Brandon (Ashley) Curnutt, and a sister, Brenda (Ricky) Morgan. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Thursday with a Memorial Service to start at 7:00 pm at the Rupp Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis DePugh officiating. She has been cremated under the direction of the Rupp Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the Anna Curnutt Memorial Fund in care of Rupp Funeral Home.

Earl Cecil Klein
1924-2017

Earl Cecil Klein, 92, of Saint Joseph, Missouri passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017 at his home. He was born October 19, 1924 in Andrew County, Missouri, son of the late Ida & John “Jack” Klein. He married Norma Hines on December 23, 1946, and they have shared 70 years together. He retired as a Detective Lieutenant from the St. Joseph Police Department after 29 years of service, and he served in the Army during the WWII and the Korea Wars, and was the recipient of 3 bronze stars. Earl was a member of the FOP Lodge #3. He is survived by wife, Norma Jean Klein of the home, two sons, Kerry (Patsy) Klein of Saint Joseph, MO, and Nelson Reed (Patricia) Klein of Conroe, TX. Mr. Klein has been cremated under the care of the Rupp Funeral Home, a Graveside Inurnment Service will be held at a later date at the Leavenworth National Cemetery.

Betty Lou Myers
1925-2017

DENTON, KANSAS – Betty L.(Adkins) Myers, 92, of Denton, Kansas died Monday, April 24, 2017 at an assisted living home in Hiawatha, Kansas.

Betty was born on March 5, 1925 in Table Rock, Nebraska to Samuel (Frank) and Maude (Randall) Adkins. She lived most of her life in the Leona and the Denton area. Betty was a homemaker. Betty loved gardening, planting flowers, horses, making quilts and embroidering tea towels.

Betty is a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bendena, Kansas and W.E.L.C.A. of the church, a Saddle Club and Bendena Homemakers Club.

She married Bill Myers on December 23, 1969 in Bendena, Kansas. He preceded her in death on June 23, 1996. Betty was also preceded by her siblings, an infant, Sam Adkins, Erma Pohl, Melvin Adkins, Jack Adkins, Dickie Adkins and Alfred Adkins.

Survivors include daughter, Sylvia Thompson (Leonard);
Sons, Gerald Myers, Wayne Myers and Lewis Myers (Pat);
10 Grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren;
Siblings, Gertrude Hamilton, John Adkins(Eva),(Mildred) Adkins, Art Adkins (Rosalee), Delbert Adkins(Sharon), Cleo Stewart, Joyce Moppin(Kenny), Danny Adkins(Terry);
Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral: Thursday, April 27, 2017 – 10:30 A.M.
At: St. John’s Lutheran Church – Bendena, Kansas.
Burial: Denton Cemetery – Denton, Kansas
Visitation – family will receive friends Wednesday evening 6-8 pm at the Harman Rohde Funeral Home in Troy, Kansas.
