New diner opens in Wathena

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held last week in Wathena to celebrate the opening of a new restaurant.

Diner 36 has opened for business in the former Pizza Hut building along 36 Highway on the west side of town. According to a news release from the Doniphan County Chamber of Commerce, the diner is owned by Tony and Tina Alimi and managed by Vikki Fowler. The couple also owns a similar restaurant, Diner 71, in Savannah.

The Chamber held a ribbon cutting ceremony last Monday. The restaurant located at 1000 US 36 is now open daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. CLICK HERE for more information.
