Kathryn Ann Leek 56, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Monday May 8, 2017 at her home. She was born February 6, 1961 in Pattonsburg, Missouri daughter of Lewis & Kenneth Morrison. She married Jesse Leek on January 7, 2011. She graduated from Winston High School, and was a homemaker. Kathryn was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth W. Morrison. and previous husband, Robert E. Nelson. She is survived by husband, Jesse Leek of the home, mother, Lewis A. Morrison, Bethany, MO, daughters, Stephanie White, Heather Evans both of St. Joseph, MO, and Kerie (Billy) Wade, Maysville, MO, brothers, John and Kenny Morrison, and sister, Keri Curtis. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Rupp Funeral Home. She will be cremated under the direction of the Rupp Funeral Home. John Alvin Snider
1948-2017
HIAWATHA, KS
John Alvin Snider, 69, of Hiawatha, passed away peacefully in his sleep May 4, 2017, at his Pemberton Village apartment.
He was born in Mc Minnville, Oregon, March 6, 1948, the son of Alvin and Dorothy Wickman Snider. He had a few occupations during his working life, but enjoyed being a ‘junker’, a salvage yard operator.
John enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and living life to it’s fullest!
John is survived by his children: Anna Hawks and John Snider, both of Hiawatha, KS, Jessica Merz of Horton, KS, Leslie Numemaker of Mechanicsburg, PA, David Helsley and his mother Jody Snider of Salt Lake City, UT; 14 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, in laws and friends.
No public services are planned at this time. His cremated remains will be spread over a couple of his favorite spots.
Judith D. Butler
1939-2017
Judith (Daugherty) Butler, 77, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017 in St. Louis, Missouri.
She was born December 21, 1939 in Columbus, Ohio and married Robert W. Butler on December 27, 1961. He preceded her in death in November 2016.
She received a bachelor’s degree in home economics from Ohio Wesleyan University and was a member of Delta Gamma fraternity (Alpha Rho Chapter). She co-founded and served as vice-president of Butler Sales Associates, Inc. in the animal health industry… for 26 years.
Judy was an extraordinary person who embraced life with determination, spirit, kindness and grace. She had the courage to try new things and never met a stranger along the way. Her warm smile, laughter and wit touched many throughout the years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, tennis, swimming and long walks on the beach. She treasured time spent with her family and many friends. Her bravery and fortitude in times of adversity made her exceptional.
Judy was a dedicated community volunteer. She was a member of various local organizations including the Seekers Class, Board of Trustees, Chancel Choir and TLC at Ashland United Methodist Church; Ladies United Benevolent Association Board of Directors; P.E.O. (Chapter KM); YMCA Board of Directors; Junior League of St. Joseph; Inklings Book Club; Runcie Club; St. Joseph Community Chorus; and her very special Mahjong group.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Paul J. and Eleanor (Greene) Daugherty.
Survivors include children, Robin Leonard (Jeff), Bradley Butler (Melissa), Elizabeth Forman (Keith), Brian Butler (Lindsey); sisters, Susan Shafer (Philip), Priscilla Mead, Sarah Sussman (Michael); 13 grandchildren; one great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, Ashland United Methodist Church. Rev. Alan Pruitt officiating. Private Inurnment Whispering Pines Cremation Garden at St. Joseph Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Juanita (Nelson) Peters, 91, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Monday, May 8, 2017.
She was born April 27, 1926 in Guilford, Missouri to Clarence and Salena (Torrence) Nelson.
She was a member of Kingdom Hall- Jehovah’s Wintness.
Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry Peters; son, Earl Elison; sisters, Maxine Lewis and Lavona Munns; brothers, Cleo and Melvin Nelson.
Survivors include daughter, Clarice Edmendson; step-son, Henry Peters; sisters, Clarnell Morris, Ermel Johnson, Donna Adams and Marjorie Pinion; brother, Farrel Nelson; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Teresa Peak
1943-2017
Teresa Ann Peak, 73, of Atchison, KS, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017 surrounded by her family.
Memorial service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, with Theola Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Alderson Cemetery. Teresa was born on December 27, 1943, in Horton, KS, the oldest child of Charles and Virginia (Lomax) Siebenmorgan. She attended Horton and Atchison schools. She married Robert L. Peak on March 21, 1959. Teresa worked at the Horton Garment Factory until her and Robert started Peak’s Auto Service. She was a member of the St. Joseph Church and VFW where she served as president of the Ladies Auxiliary in the early 1980’s. Teresa enjoyed spending time with her family, decorating her home, embroidering, cross stitch, crocheting, crafts and being on facebook to keep in contact with friends and family.
She is survived by her husband Robert of the home, four daughters, Connie (Alan) Dunster of Effingham, KS, Cheryl (Jeff) Bilderback, Edwards, MO, Vicki Rodriguez, Belton, MO, Bonnie Bilderback, Atchison, KS, a son Charles Peak, Belton, MO a brother Glenn (Marilyn) Siebenmorgan, Hiawatha, KS, a brother in law Ed Underwood. Teresa had nine grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister Joyce Underwood.
Aimee Snapp
2008-2017
Aimee Elizabeth Snapp, 8 years old, won her fight here on earth on Sunday, May 7th, 2017 at her grandmother’s home surrounded by her loving family and is now enjoying the gifts of heaven.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, May 12th, 2017 at Memorial Hall, Atchison, KS. Visitation with family will be from 1:00 pm until time of service on Friday also at Memorial Hall. Private interment will be at a later date. Aimee was born on August 9, 2008. She was home schooled and enjoyed spending time on you-tube, singing Spanish songs, dancing, riding her bike, swimming, fishing, camping and being outside. Aimee was a member of the Atchison Top Dogs, Girl Scouts, Camp Quality, and played Atchison Recreation Soccer.
