MWSU’s Gawley, Glaude earn All-Region honors

riggertMissouriWesternST. JOSEPH – Two members of the Missouri Western baseball team received all-region honors as released by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and Division Two Conference Commissioner’s Association, Thursday.

Senior second baseman David Glaude was named second team on both all-region teams with Nick Gawley receiving honorable mention on the NCBWA All-Central Region team.

Both Griffons are currently with their team in its second straight appearance in the NCAA Division II Central Region tournament played in Emporia, Kansas.
Glaude was named second team All-MIAA and entered the regional with a .351 batting average, a team-high eight home runs, 13 doubles and two triples. The Canadian broke the MWSU career home run, RBI and doubles records this season and was a first team NCBWA and second team D2CCA All-Region selection last year.

Gawley was named first team All-MIAA and led the Griffons with a .359 batting average and 18 doubles. The senior outfielder also broke the MWSU single-season stolen base record and entered the regional with 38 stolen bases.
