According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 71-year-old Freddie Wood was driving a 2002 Ford F250 eastbound on US 36 about two miles west of Mooresville around 3:30 p.m. when the left front tire failed. The failure caused his vehicle to travel into the median, across both lanes of westbound US 36 and off the north side of the roadway. The front of his vehicle hit an embankment causing the trailer attached to separated from the truck and the load to come off the trailer. Wood was taken by ambulance to the Cameron Regional Medical Center for treatment of what was described as a moderate injury. He was reported to be wearing a seat belt.
