A Wathena woman is accused of allegedly stealing a man’s car by snagging his keys while inside his home.

Kylie Barmann, 23 is charged in Buchanan County with a class-D felony of stealing.

According to court documents, on May 12 around 8:30 p.m. Barmann allegedly stole a vehicle from the 1600 block of N. 20th.

“Barmann was with the victim at his residence and when he returned from another room the suspect was gone as well as the victim’s keys to his 2009 Mitsubishi which were in the same room as the suspect and the vehicle was gone from his residence,” said Det. Greg Ogdahl.

Barmann is being held on $7,500 bail. She’s dues in court Tuesday for an arraignment.
