The St. Joseph Police Department is investigating an assault with a motor vehicle following a disturbance Tuesday night.

According to Commander Eric Protzman with the Police Department, a call came in around 6 p.m. reporting someone being hit by a vehicle in the 200 block of Dogwood Street.

Protzman said a 17-year-old male was hit by a small van following a disturbance. The van left the scene and the 17-year-old was transported by private vehicle to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The incident is still under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at (816) 238-TIPS.
