Two killed, three seriously hurt, in Linn County crash

A head-on crash in north-central Missouri killed two people and seriously injured three more, including two children. The Missouri State Highway Patrol identifies the fatalities as Jeremy Maddox, 30, and Jessika Maddox, 24, both of Marceline, Mo. Their four-year-old son Riley Maddox was seriously hurt.

A crash report says the Maddox vehicle was hit head-on by a motorist that crossed the center line cresting a hill along Missouri Highway 5.

The other driver is identified as 47-year-old Shauna Gauthier of Bucklin, Mo.. Gauthier and her seven-year-old granddaughter Olivia Salgado of Marceline, were both seriously hurt in the crash. All three survivors were flown to the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.

The accident happened about a half mile north of Marceline in Linn County, Missouri at 10:51 am Friday.
