Christopher Sands was arrested for an incident June 16 and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, because of a prior felony robbery conviction. Investigators said in an affidavit that Sands “…possessed a .22 caliber handgun on his person in his waistband,” and that he “…shot the .22 caliber handgun off inside of the residence.”
Bail for the defendant was originally set at $25,000. During his first court appearance before Judge Keith Marquart, details emerged of the argument and fight with his brother and girlfriend that allegedly led to the gunfire.
Judge Marquart ruled Sands poses a danger to both victims and denied the setting of bail.
The case is now scheduled for a preliminary hearing July 7 at 11 am, with a status hearing planned next week.
