Heat continues with chances of rain and storms

Two more hot days are in store before there is a break from the heat for the weekend. Highs today and tomorrow will be in the lower 90s with heat index values in the mid 90s. Storms will also be possible tonight and again tomorrow night. Here’s the 7-day forecast from the National Weather Service:  

Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 93. Breezy, with a south southwest wind 7 to 12 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 28 mph.

Tonight: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 72. South wind 8 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 91. Heat index values as high as 95. South wind 9 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph.

Thursday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. South wind 7 to 13 mph becoming north after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Friday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 82. North wind 7 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 59.

Saturday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 76. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 54.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 74.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 53.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 79.

Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 56.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 83.
