The trial schedule for a 34-year-old Climax Springs man accused of sexually abusing a teenager was set back two weeks after a new attorney entered the case.
Joseph Sousley is charged with three felony counts of sodomy and one felony count of sexual abuse. Court documents say Sousley abused a 15 year old during the month of June of last year.
During a hearing Friday, Public Defender Karen Klingbeil told a judge she hasn’t had time to review the state’s evidence. Attorney Andrew Parmenter withdrew from the case and Klingbeil took over on June 30. But she said she had only received the state’s evidence on Thursday.
Circuit Judge Daniel Kellogg rescheduled the case for a trial-setting July 27. Sousley is free after posting $25,000 bond.
