1956-2017

Brian K. “Skeeter” Lucas, 60, St. Joseph, Missouri passed

away Friday, July 7, 2017.

He was born August 1, 1956 to Herbert and Mattie (Mynett)

Lucas.

Brian graduated from Central high school in 1974. He went

on to complete several college courses and then entered the

construction industry. Brian loved life, adventures, and most of

all his family & friends. He will be dearly missed by all who

knew him.

Brian was preceded in death by his lifetime partner Tammy

Brewer; father; sister, Gerald Mahone; and brother, Herbert

Lucas, Jr.

Survivors include his mother; sons, Aaron Lucas (Ivy),

Brian Lucas; daughters, Miki Brewer, Mattie Lucas, Briana Lucas,

Zoe Carr (Micah), Mena Lucas; brothers, Michael Lucas, Eric

Lucas; sisters, Sharon Lucas, Peggy Byrd (Dwight), Lois

Underwood (Gary), Julie Vaughn; 10 grandchildren; and numerous

nieces and nephews.

Graveside Farewell Services & Interment 10:00 A.M. Monday,

July 17, 2017 Memorial Park Cemetery. The procession will leave

from Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.

Thelma “Sue” Milbourn
1926-2017

Thelma “Sue” Milbourn, 90, Omaha, Nebraska, formerly of St. Joseph,

Missouri passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at a health care center.

She was born August 15, 1926 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Thomas and

Buelah (Morlock) Milbourn.

Thelma married David Ernest Milbourn in March 1947.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and

granddaughter, Kimberly Huffman Ballard.

Survivors include four children; Robert, David Lee, Sheila, Tam;

nine grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, ten great-great

grandchildren, one sister Margaret Howard, one brother John Berry, and

numerous nieces and nephews.

Gerald “Jerry” Wayne Norton
1935-2017


Gerald “Jerry” Wayne Norton 81, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Sunday July 9, 2017 in St. Joseph. He was born September 3, 1935 in Falls City, Nebraska. He retired from the St. Joseph Fire Department as a Fireman after 38 years of service, he also owned a tree service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and gardening. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jerry Norton, Jr., brother, Bill Norton, and sister, Ann Tull. Survivors include four daughters, Melinda (Jeff) Magers, Laurie Norton, Becky (Curt) McCumber, and Rhonda (Kenny) Helsel, 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and his brother, Alvin Norton. He will be cremated under the care and direction of the Rupp Funeral Home. There are no scheduled services at this time.

Susie May Watson
1937-2017


Susie May Watson 80, of Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Mosaic Life Care hospital. She was born June 30, 1937 in St. Joseph, MO. She worked at Holiday Inn as a Room Attendant, and at the Tenderloin on the Avenue. Susie was preceded in death by mother, Lydia VanVolkenburg, father, Walter Stufflebean, 1st husband, Lee Roy Meinecke, 2nd husband, Harry R. Watson, sons, Glen H. Meinecke, Harry Richard Watson, brothers, Floyd T. Stufflebean, Clarence Ervin Stufflebean, half brother, Raymond VanVolkenburg, grandson, Danny L. Watson, great grandson, Matthew Watson. Survivors include sons; Bob(Crystal) Watson, John Watson, David Jenkins, Mike Meinecke daughters: Brenda VanVolkenburg, Sarah A. Gibson, brothers, Bill E. (Patty) Stufflebean, Larry Stufflebean, and Lee Roy Stufflebean, half sister, Ernestine Forrest, 14 Grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services and interment will be conducted on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 2:30 pm, at the Memorial Park Cemetery, The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Friday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the American Cancer Society or the Susie May Watson Memorial fund in care of the Rupp Funeral Home.

Robert “Bob” Allen Deaton
1929-2017


Robert Allen “Bob” Deaton, 88, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Shady Lawn Living Center, in Savannah, Missouri, from complications of Alzheimer’s. He was born May 10, 1929 in St. Joseph, Missouri, the third of five children of Loys and Daisy (Reece) Deaton. He graduated from Benton High School, Class of 1947, and was a life-long resident of the South Side. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. On September 1, 1951, he married Josephine Almanza, and they happily began their sixty-six years of life together. Bob owned and operated a very successful
painting I contracting service for many years, providing excellent customer service until he retired at age 82. Bob enjoyed life, especially spending time with his family and his friends, of whom he had many. He faithfully served his church and his community, and was a member of King Hill Baptist Church (now Journey Baptist Church), where he served as a Deacon. He was also a member of King Hill Lodge #376 A. F. & A.M.; Scottish Rite; and Moila Shrine. Bob volunteered at the local food pantry; and through the Shriners, provided medical transportation for children in need. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Mildred; and his brothers, James and Wayne Deaton. He is survived by his loving wife, Josephine, of the home; daughter, Diane Deaton, Baton Rouge, Louisiana; son, Steve (JoAnne) Deaton, Tulsa, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Ashley Deaton Co1pitt (Chase), Houston, Texas; Rachel Deaton, Tulsa, Oklahoma; step-grandchildren, Colin McCullough. Tulsa, Oklahoma; Shannon Barsotti (Chris), Pownal, Vermont; brother, Doug (Lois) Deaton, St. Joseph, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews.We will miss the twinkle in his eye, his steadfast character, and most of all, his unconditional love.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, July 17, 2017 at Rupp Funeral Home, with Pastor Jacob McMillian officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 16,2017 at Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Felipe Paramo Calderon
1953-2017


Felipe Paramo Calderon, 64, of Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at the University of Missouri hospital, Columbia, MO. He was born January 18, 1953 in Rancho el Derramadero, Uriangato, Guanajuato, Mexico, son of the late Maria and Felipe Calderon. He worked in the construction and farming industries. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church. Felipe was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Pedro Calderon, sister, Lucia Calderon. Survivors include, wife, Maxine (Chavez) Calderon of the home. sons: Daniel (Jeanette) Calderon, Chicago, IL, Marcos (Graciella) Calderon, Kansas City, MO, Felipe (Vivian) Calderon, Chicago, IL, Phillip (Regina) Calderon, and Carlos Calderon both of St. Joseph, 13 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, brothers: Gerado and Guadalupe Calderon, sisters: Ofelia Calderon, Maria de Jesus Calderon, Maria Calderon, and Teresa Calderon.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, St. James Catholic Church, Father Luis Felipe Suarez, celebrant. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday with the Rosary to be recited at 7:30 PM Friday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the Felipe Calderon memorial fund in care of the Rupp Funeral Home.
