(Update Tuesday) – Police are still searching for at least two people after a crash and shooting incident that took place Monday evening near the south end of town.

Commander Eric Protzman with the St. Joseph Police Department said Tuesday morning that police have not located a victim or a suspect.

According to new information provided by police, Monday evening two cars appeared to be chasing each-other heading southbound on 22nd street and collided causing one of the vehicles to hit a third vehicle northbound on 22nd.  Protzman said at some point in time shots were fired.  He said the individuals from the two vehicles that were chasing each other got into one vehicle and fled the scene.  Police believe from the reports that one of the individuals was hit by gunfire and got into the vehicle with the alleged suspect.
