Update – ATT reported around noon that service has been restored for customers in the great Kansas City area affected by a voice calling issue earlier in the morning.

Many AT&T customers in Kansas and Missouri could be experiencing problems making calls and sending text messages.

The St. Joseph Police Department issued an alert around 9:45 a.m. Wednesday advising the public to be aware that an outage with AT&T is affecting cellular devices.

According to the website downdetector.com, which tracks outage complaints across the country, the outage seems to be impacting several areas in northeast Kansas and northwest Missouri. A large portion of Kansas City appeared to be dealing with outages.
