The St. Joseph Mustangs open the postseason Thursday night as they entertain Sedalia in the MINK League North Divisional championship game at Phil Welch Stadium.
St. Joe’s collegiate summer baseball team is 34-13 this season and they won the MINK League North regular season title with a 28-12 record. Sedalia, who is 26-17 this season, advanced to play St. Joe after winning the MINK League North Wild Card game Wednesday at home against Clarinda 7-6.
The Mustangs went 4-2 against the Bombers this season, including a 2-1 mark inside Phil Welch Stadium.
The MINK League South Divisional Championship game will also take place Thursday as Ozark plays host to Nevada. The two winners of the Divisional championship games will meet in a best-of-three championship series starting Friday.
The first pitch Thursday between St. Joseph and Sedalia will be at 7:00 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on 680 KFEQ.
