Mindy Raye Johnson 26, of Burlington, Iowa, passed away Friday, July 14, 2017, at the result of an automobile accident in Iowa. She was born September 23, 1990 in St. Joseph, MO. She attended Highland Kansas High School and worked in the restaurant industry at McDonald’s. She loved music, dancing, and cars, taking pictures and selfies, she also liked to help others. Survivors include, husband, Mark Johnson, St. Joseph, MO, daughter, Raneshie Johnson, son, Marquise Johnson, mother, Debra (James) Pace, St. Joseph, MO, father Edward (Twyla) Maul, brothers, Lucas Pace, James Pace Jr, Chris (Amiee) Maul, Alva (Serria) Maul, and Michael (Michelle) Maul, sisters, Trina (John) Wilson, Shauna Maul, April Maul, Misty Roberts, Jennifer Rud, and Brandie Faron, 7 nephews, 11 nieces of CO, 2 great nephews, 1 great niece, step children Quinten Johnson, Amiya Johnson, Lakich Johnson, Jeraudra Plelps, Isaliah Johnson, Kaylee Johnson, and Aqilyah Johnson, mother in law, Marilyn Johnson, sister in law, Gloria Rigby, aunts, Sheirly (Wes), Alberta, Arlene, Keren, and uncles, Jr.and Paul (Lisa)
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am, on Friday, July 28, 2017 at Rupp Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Robin Lee Bacon Jr. 33, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017 at his home. He was born September 16, 1983 in St. Joseph, MO, son of the late Pamela and Robin Bacon. He worked at Farris Truck Stop as a Cashier. Robin was preceded in death by parents, paternal grandmother, Mary Jones, paternal grandparents, Donald & Vera Bacon, uncle, Kenneth Neiderhauser, grandparents, Helen & Paul Neiderhauser, aunt, Delorse Mowen. Gladys L. Albers
1931-2017

Gladys L. Albers – February 22, 1931 – July 23, 2017 Gladys (Taylor) Albers, 86, of Bendena, KS, crossed over to new life on July 23, 2017 at Catholic Care Center in Wichita, KS where she moved in 2012 to be near her daughter. Gladys was born on February 22, 1931 on a farm near White Cloud, KS to Herman “Mike” and Helen (Thomas) Taylor. She was the second of four children, and their only daughter. Gladys graduated from Highland (KS) College in 1950. She took her first elementary teaching job at Bendena, KS in August 1950, and met her future husband at a Fall Community Dance at the school. Gladys Taylor married Herbert Albers on June 10, 1951 in White Cloud, KS. They cherished over 53 years of marriage before he passed away on January 27, 2005. Also, she has been a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bendena since 1951.

Gladys did some substitute teaching while raising 3 children, and then in 1968 she enrolled full-time at Benedictine College in Atchison, KS to finish her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education in 1970. Mrs. Albers taught full-time at Midway Elementary for another 15 years, until retiring in 1985. Gladys also enjoyed growing flowers, vegetables, shrubs & trees, and painting artwork. However, her greatest passion was her love for teaching children or anyone who wanted to learn. Even as she became weaker in her final years, she still loved to teach everyone from young kids to senior citizens.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, husband Herbert Albers, infant great-granddaughter Susana Livingston, son-in-law Larry Chambers, brother Marvin “Buddy” Taylor, and brother Keith Taylor.

Gladys is survived by one daughter: Susan Chambers of Wichita, KS, and two sons: Colin (Teresa) Albers of Nebraska City, NE, and Glenn (Rose Mary) Albers of Kansas City, MO; Five grandchildren: Derick (Melissa) Albers, Megan (Andrew) Livingston, Dana (Daniel) Dacumos, Thomas Chambers, Kara Chambers; Thirteen great-grandchildren, brother Ron (Lee) Taylor, aunt Bernice Taylor, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 31, 2017 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Bendena, KS. Interment will follow at Moray Cemetery. Friends may call at the Harman-Rohde Funeral Home in Troy, KS after 9 A.M. Sunday, where the family will meet with friends from 7–8:30 that evening.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. John’s Lutheran Church of Bendena, KS; or Moray Cemetery; or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice of Wichita, KS.

Jack William Barnes
1932-2017

Jack William Barnes 84, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Quail Run Healthcare Center, Cameron Missouri. He was born October 23, 1932 in Los Angeles, CA, son of the late Clara (Frakes) and George W. Barnes. He worked at Seaman & Schuske as a Sheet Metal Worker. He had a love of music, playing his guitar, and had a terrific singing voice. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Lorraine Wray, and husband Virgil, and Agnes Stout and husband Clarence. Survivors include, brother, Roy (Sandra) Barnes, Derby, KS, and their children and grandchildren, sister, Virginia (Richard) Porr, Liberty, MO, their children and grandchildren, niece, Fary Wray Smith, Loraine’s daughter, and her children and grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am, on Monday, July 31, 2017 at Rupp Funeral Home, with Aaron Porr officiating, The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Charles Robert “Bob” Stinson
1931-2017

Charles Robert “Bob” Stinson, 86, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, July 24, 2017, at his home.
He was born January 18, 1931, to Charles and Vera Stinson in Larned, Kansas.
Bob married Barbara Douglas June 21, 1953, she survives of the home.
He was a retired college counselor and worked for the St. Joseph School District for 25 years.
Bob was a more than 50 year member of Huffman Memorial United Methodist Church. He was a member of the American Legion, Phi Theta Kappa, the Missouri State Teacher’s Association, and the National Education Association. Bob retired as a Missouri Air Guard lieutenant colonel. He enjoyed camping, reading books about history, and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Julia Lynn; son, Robert Douglas; sister, Mary Ann; and granddaughter, Shaina Anne Turner.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Suanne Turner (James), St. Joseph, Missouri, Lisa Jean Baugher (Gary), Woodland Park, Colorado, Kimberly Kaye Armes (Steven), St. Joseph, Missouri; sister, Sue Stinson, St. Joseph, Missouri; granddaughters, Christen Turner-Groff (Justin), Alyssa Turner, Stephanie Palmer (Andy), Miranda Armes, and Cailey Armes; grandsons, Elijah Baugher, Isaac Baugher, Jacob Baugher, and Trevor Armes; and great-granddaughters, Halo Dawn and Lilith Kaye Palmer.

Kay Ann Ulrich
1938-2017

Kay Ann Ulrich, 78, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017.
She was born October 11, 1938 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Harold and Elaine (Leak) Adams.
Kay married Roger Howard Ulrich December 8, 1990, he survives of the home.
She was a volunteer for The American Red Cross and The American Cancer Society, in which she was employed for over three years. Kay was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, The Red Hat Club and Sing-A-Lings.
Kay enjoyed traveling, fishing, sewing, gardening, cruising in their convertible, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Steven Rails; daughter, Jody Pizona; granddaughters, Alexis Walker, Michelle Rails; and brother, Harold Adams.
Additional survivors include sons, Darin Rails (Carol Duke), Dean Rails; daughters, Teresa Rae (John), Lisa Polaski (Jim); step-children, Tracy Goodwin (Maurice), Marsha Juif (Trent), Bret Ulrich (Mary Kay); twenty-four grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; sister, Jean Bell (Wayne); and her beloved dog Gizmo.
