Thunderstorms are possible beginning Saturday morning, with increasing chances expected Saturday evening and overnight. During this time, 2 to 3 inches of rainfall are possible across the area, with locally higher amounts. A Flash Flood Watch has been issued across the KC Metro and surrounding areas beginning Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning. Here’s the 7-day forecast from the National Weather Service:

Saturday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 7 a.m. Cloudy, with a high near 74. South southeast wind 5 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Saturday Night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Low around 64. East southeast wind 5 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.

Sunday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 78. Northeast wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
