The St. Joseph Police Department has a person of interest in connection with a July apartment shooting which resulted in one death and two serious injuries.

As we previously reported, 42-year-old Kias Bernard was killed and 31-year-old Jass Walter and 37-year-old Fasios Bernard were hospitalized with serious injuries July 20 after a shooting at Brittany Village Apartments located at 1605 N. 36th St.

Capt. Jeff Wilson said, while the case is still an open investigation, detectives have been able to identify a person of interest.  Wilson said detectives still have a substantial amount of work in the investigation.  As of Wednesday charges have not been filed.
