Kansas linebacker Maciah Long has been dismissed from the football team after he was arrested Sunday for allegedly threatened a woman with a handgun.
The 19-year old Long was charged Monday with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a felony, and two misdemeanors, criminal damage to property and marijuana possession. According to Douglas County District Court documents, Long is also alleged to have damaged or destroyed the woman’s television.
Kansas announced Long’s dismissal from the program Monday morning, citing an unspecified team rules violation.
Long, a 6-foot-2 sophomore from Houston, played tight end and linebacker for KU last season. He carried the ball twice for one yard.
