A St. Joseph man is accused of breaking into two homes and defecating and urinating on items inside.
Joshua Moffatt, 29 is charged in Buchanan County with a felony of second-degree burglary.
According to court documents, Tuesday in the 3600 block of Senecca St. Moffatt is accused of entering a duplex through a kitchen window, collecting numerous items in that residence and placing them in a pile. Det. Jeff Pearl with the St. Joseph Police Department said, Moffatt then forced open a locked entryway door and entered the adjoining duplex.
“Moffatt selected numerous items in that residence as well and placed them in piles,” Pearl said. “He then defecated on the victims bed and urinated on the carpeting.”
Pearl said Moffatt did not know either victim and has never had permission to enter either home.
“The suspect entered two residences and put bodily fluids and excrement in the victims residence,” Pearl said. “The defendant has been arrested in the past for failure to appear, possession of drugs, orders of protection violations, assault, non-support, and fugitive from out of state.”
Moffatt is being held in the Buchanan County Jail on $10,000 bond. He’s due in court Friday for an arraignment.
