ST.​ ​JOSEPH,​ ​MO.​ — MINK League Champions, a top 20 team national ranking, and now, the St. Joseph Mustangs have finished again in the Top 10 nationally for Summer Collegiate Baseball Attendance.

The St. Joseph Mustangs averaged 2,257 fans in 29 regular season home games this season, good for a ninth place ranking among 2017 Summer Collegiate teams, according to BaseballDigest.com.

The Mustangs are ranked in the Top 10 for the fifth consecutive season.

Mustangs General Manager Ky Turner says consistent Top 10 rankings is a testament to the fans and the community of St. Joseph.

“The community and the festive atmosphere they create is what helps us draw people in for their first visit. Once we get them in, the team’s play, our fans hospitality, and the incredible staff we have has really helped us bring people back in for repeat visits. The experience that our guests in the stands allow us to provide is incredible, and I know our players are so thankful for them.” Turner said. “We’ve been working on some new ideas and surprises to celebrate our anniversary, ten wonderful years in St. Joseph next season, and we can’t wait to invite everyone back to Phil Welch Stadium.”

In those five consecutive seasons in the Top 10, Mustangs fans have seen their hometown team claim 3-League Championships. The most recent being won 13-2 over the Ozark Generals on July 31st, capping off Manager Matt Johnson’s final season with his fifth MINK League title.

The Mustangs also found themselves ranked within the Top 10 for Total Attendance in ninth place with 65,453.
