Cub Scouts sign-ups are taking place this week at all St. Joseph School District elementary schools.
Eric McGuire is the District Director with the Pony Express Council Boy Scouts of America. McGuire said Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. they will be set up at each of the 16 public elementary schools in the SJSD for Cub Scouts enrollment. Cub Scouts is for boys ages 7-10 or grades 1-5.
“Usually the boys want to go where their friends are so we would recommend it would be easiest to go to the event at your son’s school. However, that doesn’t prevent you from going to another one,” McGuire said.
At sign-up locations, McGuire said a Cub Scouts pack will be there ready to meet each of the interested families.
“A chance for any new parent or boys to ask questions,” McGuire said. “If you’re short on time the way we have it set up is open house style. So if you just have a few minutes feel free to drop by, fill out the paperwork and get all your questions answered and go.”
McGuire said the sign-up fee is $8 and covers the child’s scouting membership until the end of 2017.
