Lily Mae (Donly) Haden

Lily Mae (Donly) Haden, 91, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at a local health care facility.
She was born August 19, 1926 to James and Susan (Morrison) Donly.
Lily married Harold Wade Riepen in 1947; he passed away in 1954. She later married Roney Antone Haden in 1956; he passed away in 1999.
She was a 1944 Central graduate. Lily was an active member of the Community of Christ Church on 17th Street, formerly The Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (RLDS). She was also a dedicated member of Needles charity sewing group at the Moila Country Club.
Lily enjoyed gardening, loved flowers and birds. Above all, Lily loved her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both of her husbands; sisters, Margaret Guinn, Clara E. Joffe; brothers, Jim and Bill Donly, and her step son, Roney Louise “Butch” Haden.
Survivors include her sons, Rex and Rodney; sister-in-law, Helen Donly; daughters-in-law, Susie Haden, Jane Conners; grandchildren, Jason Riepen, Jeanne Green (Colonel Darrell); nieces, Susie Joffe Redmon, Claudia Kroemer, Becky Mollus, Margy Pritchett, Debbie Seiter; nephews, Michael Guinn and Kevin Donly. She was also much loved by the Connors family in Sydney, Australia.

Thomas Howard Potts, 74, of Effingham, KS died Sat. Sept. 2, 2017 at the Mosaic Life Center, St. Joseph, MO.
Visitation for Mr. Potts will be Monday, Sept. 4th, 2017 beginning at 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Becker Chapel, Effingham, KS. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm on Friday, Sept. 8th at the Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester, TN. Burial will follow in the Mt. Garner Cemetery, Decherd, TN. Thomas was born on June 3, 1943 in Winchester, TN the son of James and Rubye (Steele) Potts. He attended schools in Winchester. Mr. Potts had worked for the Rival Company and Web Belting, in Kansas City. He was a truck driver for an oil company and moved to Effingham in 1990. Thomas enjoyed fishing.
He was married to Angelina ‘Anne” Vargas in 1980. She preceded him in death on April 1998.Survivors include two sisters, Myra Rigney, Shelbyville, TN, and Sandra Davis, Hillsboro, TN and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. His parents, wife Anne, and two brothers, Grady D. Potts and James F. Potts preceded him in death

Todd Anthony Dunken 51, Saint Joseph, Missouri died Thursday, August 31, 2017 at his home. He was born June 14, 1966, Wichita, Kansas. He graduated from Benton High School in 1985, and worked at Frederick Inn for 10 years, and the Ground Round for 13 years as a cook/chef. He enjoyed rock & roll music, KC Chiefs, and grilling out at family BBQs. Todd was preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Dunken, step father, Donald Hall, mother, Alice Hall. Survivors include wife, Natalie Marlin-Dunken, daughters, Natasha (Justin) Lawrence, Amanda Dunken, son, T.J. Dunken, grandchildren, Wyatt, Layne, and Tryston, brothers, Tim Dunken, Kenneth Hall, and Aaron Hall, sisters, Jennifer Mace, Lisa Dunken, and Dee Dee Hall. Marvin “Sug” Edward Mackley 67, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Saturday, September 2, 2017. He was born November 3, 1949 in St. Joseph, MO. He attended Benton High School, and he worked at the Buchanan County Eastern District as a Truck Driver and Heavy Equipment Operator. He loved to fish on the river, hunting, woodworking, and cooking for family events. He was a Baptist. Sug was preceded in death by father, James Marvin Mackley, mother, Betty Lou Grossman, infant daughter, Sheri Lynn Mackley, maternal grandmother, Mary Belle McGuire, and paternal grandparents, Eva and Hurles Mackley. Survivors include: daughter, Bobbi Jo (John) Blanchard, Saint Joseph, MO, brother, Ralph Scofield, St. Joseph, MO, sister, Karen Scofield, St. Joseph, MO, grandsons, Daniel Musser, Derek Musser, Colton Blanchard, and Drake Blanchard, nephews, Dean and Ronnie Lee Scofield, and numerous cousins, relatives, and friends.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Rupp Funeral Home with Rev. Pat Sampson officiating. Mary Lou Wuerfele, 83, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at a local health care facility.
She was born June 10, 1934 to Earl and Mary Robbins.
Mary Lou married Norman Wuerfele April 1, 1957; he precedes her in death.
She worked at Sherwood Medical, Whitaker Cable and as a house keeper. Through Experience Works she later worked at YMCA and Salvation Army.
Mary Lou enjoyed singing, discussing her favorite TV shows and loved being at her home.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Carol Blades, Sharon Robbins, Jackie Groom; brother, Winfred “Gene” Robbins and infant brother, Marlon.
Survivors include daughters, Deborah Miller, Roberta Nolan; sisters, Jean Robbins, Margie Bonnett, Linda Goerke, Clara Robbins; brother, Joe Robbins, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and loving nieces and nephews.

Kevin E. Hughes-Lucas, 52, Kansas City, Missouri, formerly of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017.
He was born to John Henry Davis, Sr. and Donna (Hughes) Ginn on May 6, 1965 in St. Joseph, MO.
As a youth he attended Holsey Chapel, I.C.M. and also attended St. Joseph Public Schools (Everett Elementary, Horace Mann Middle School and Lafayette High School). Kevin furthered his education at Maplewood’s Community College where he sought a degree in Liberal Arts.
He moved to Kansas City, MO in January of 2005. After moving to Kansas City, he attended Covenant Memorial Baptist Church, where he was baptized.
Kevin was an avid reader and enjoyed the study and exploration of history. He enjoyed sports, various genres of music and a good debate. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Herbert “Rumpy” Lucas, Jr.; sisters, Danielle Lucas, Shana Onikede; nephew, DaJour Lucas; niece, Serenity-Faith Grayson; grandparents, Ruth Ewing, Otis Hayes and Willie Mae Smiley; uncles, Arthur Lewis Ewing and Brian “Skeet” Lucas.
He leaves to celebrate his memory, his wife, Bridgett (Mitchell) Lucas; parents, John Henry Davis, Sr., and Donna Evelyn Ginn; step-father, Keith Harvey Ginn; step-mother’s, Nylanda Dorisetta Davis and Marketa Lucas; sisters, Monique Lucas, Tressa Lucas-Grayson (Anthony), Jeri Lynn Rector (Brian), Herbi-Jo Lucas, and Christina Foutch (Jeff); brothers, Herbert Lucas III (Casey), Corey Lucas (Alaina), John “Jay” Davis, Jr., Larry Nave, Glen Hughes (Katrenia); grandmother, Mattie Pearl Lucas; best friend, Joey Ewing; several nieces and nephews, and one special nephew, Da’Shawn “Bubba” Lucas; and a host of family and friends.

Ora E. Tisdale, 81, of Atchison, KS died Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at the Atchison Senior Village.

Ora was born on June 7, 1936 in Luverne, Alabama the daughter of Ralph and Lovie (Miller) Perkins. She was a housewife and homemaker, a member of the Campbell Chapel AME Church where she taught Sunday school and served as a Steward. She enjoyed sewing and especially her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Clarence (Barbara) Tisdale, Rio Rancho, NM, and Calvin (Jaime) Tisdale, Atchison, KS, a sister, Anne Jo Perkins, Newark, NJ, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Esther M. Weis

TROY, KANSAS – Esther (Losson) Weis, 92, of Troy, Kansas died Thursday, August 31, 2017.
Esther was born on May 7, 1925 in Troy, Kansas to Harry and Anna Mae (Blakley) Losson. She lived most of her life in Doniphan County and was a homemaker.
Esther is a member of the First Baptist Church in Troy.
She married Alvin O. Kostman on Dec. 26, 1944. He preceded her in death on Sept. 26, 1962. On February 14, 1973 she married Leo “Pete” Weis. He preceded her in death on Jan. 18, 2004. Esther was also preceded by her parents, step-son, Gregg Weis, 3 brothers; Joseph, Harry Jr. and Glen Losson.
She is survived by

Jody Kay (Bozarth) Utter, of Warsaw, Mo passed away Monday, August 28, 2017 in Columbia, MO. She was born January 19, 1973 in St. Joseph, MO. She graduated from Benton High School, class of 1992. She married Raymond Gene Utter on January 12, 1998. He survives of the home. They moved to Warsaw, MO in 2013. Jody was a Certified Nurses Aid for 26 years. Jody enjoyed helping and caring for people, traveling, and spending time with her children. She was preceded in death by her Step Father, Frederick Louis Burley, and her Grandparents, Wallace Eugene & Lotus Rhea Bozarth. Survivors include; Husband, Raymond of the home, Mother, Pamela Marie (Bozarth) Burley, Sons, Shai Eugene Bozarth, Andrew Ryan Bozarth, and Raymond Gene Utter, Step Sons, Anthony (Christina) Masoner, Sgt. Marion Dale Chappell 75, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Mosaic life care hospital. He was born October 19, 1941 in Graham, MO, son of the late Beulah and Jack Chappell. He married Doris Gentry on April 7, 1958 in St. Joseph, MO. He worked at Triple F Feeds for several years then was the owner operator of D & D Equipment over 20 years which was established in 1991. He enjoyed motorcycles, old cars, and his place at the Lake of the Ozarks. He was a Christian. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Jessica Cates, sisters, Shirley Duffy, Gail Martin, and Sylvia Simmons. Survivors include, wife, Doris Chappell of the home, sons, Jerry (Selina) Chappell, Agency, MO, and Jackie Chappell, St. Joseph, MO, and daughter, Janette (Pat) Cates. St. Joseph, MO, grandchildren, Tricia Bonnett, Christopher Chappell, Tiffany Chappell, Megan McClain, Zack Sisk, and Wesley Sisk, great grandchildren, Alejandro, Adelina, Hailea, Shelbie, Caleb, Natalie, and Xavier.

John Francis Reiner

John Francis Reiner 76, of Saint Joseph, Missouri passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017 in Mosaic Life Care Hospital. He was born May 23, 1941 in St. Joseph, Missouri, son of the late Florence & Eugene Reiner. He married Karen Fike on April 12, 1965, she survives of the home. He graduated from Central High School. He owned and operated Satellite Manufacturing Co. for Jewelers and Dentist out of Pamona, CA for over 32 years. When he moving back to St. Joseph, he owned the American Tavern for 24 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and traveling. While living in California, he did extensive charity work with SFVAR, an association for handicapped young adults, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars. He also owned several race horses. John was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Roberta, Clara, and Karen. Survivors include: wife, Karen Reiner of the home, brothers, Bob Reiner, Casseville, MO, and Kenny (Patricia) Reiner, St. Joseph, MO, a sister, Delores (Randy) Hoover, and several nieces and nephews. Mary Eddins 93, of Saint Joseph, MO passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017 in a Saint Joseph, MO health care center. She was born April 21, 1924 in St. Joseph, MO, daughter of the late Pazi and Nestor Kalahurka. She graduated from Benton High School, Class of 1941 and worked at Chase Candy Company, Wonder Bread “Day Old” Bakery as a Clerk and she was a homemaker. Mary was a member of St. James Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by; husband, William Alfred Eddins, her parents, brothers, Bill, John, and Mike Kalahurka, and her sister, Frances McCullough. Survivors include son, Bill (Gail) Eddins, Saint Joseph, MO, daughters, Patty (Joe) Perry, Clarksville, MD, and Cathy Wood, (Scott Besler), Tecumseh, KS, 4 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 10 step great grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 2, 2017, at 10:00 am at the St. James Catholic Church, Fr. Bill Walter Celebrant. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday at the Rupp Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7:30 pm, Friday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Gabriella was born December 8, 1991 in Boynton Beach FL, the daughter of Tony and Audrey (Berry) Correa. She was attending college finishing up her degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Criminal Psychology. Gabriella love volunteering at the local humane society.
Gabriella is survived by her parents, Tony and Audrey Correa, Boca Raton, FL, a paternal grandmother, Benita Pott, a maternal grandmother, Susie Berry, two aunts, Bonnie Emery and Kristi Jamvold.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Clyde Berry and two uncles David and Doug Berry.
