Albert Lee McDaniel
1951-2017


Albert Lee McDaniel 65, of Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, September 11, 2017 at Mosaic Life Care Hospital. He was born December 12, 1951 in St. Joseph, MO, son of the late Opal and Charles McDaniel Sr.. He graduated from Lafayette High School 1970, He then served in the Army and is a veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked at I & M Machine Shop over 20 years as a Machine Operator – Lazer Manager. He enjoyed working on old cars, traveling, and drag racing but most of all he loved his family. He was a member of the Family Worship Center Church. Albert was preceded in death by his parents, wife Bobbi McDaniel, daughter, Alyssa McDaniel, brothers, Danny, Donnie, and Richard. and a sister, Mary Foster. Survivors include, daughter, Cherlyn (Brian) McDaniel-McWhirt, Raymore, MO, son, Paul Wright, companion Cindy Edwards of the home, step daughter, Angie (Dustin) Owen, step son, Austin (Christy) Ledford, grandchildren, Bryan and Lexi Wyant, Asher and Addison Ledford, Michael Halpin, and Piper Wright, great granddaughter, Braelyn Wyant, brothers, Charles (Tamara) McDaniel Jr., Chandler, AZ, Kenny (Beth) McDaniel, Savannah, MO, Ronnie (Terri) McDaniel, St. Joseph, MO, and Jimmy McDaniel, St. Joseph, MO, and a sister, Aline Hawkins, Wathena, KS.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am, on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Rupp Funeral Home, with Pastor Douglas Cline officiating, The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday at the Rupp Funeral Home. The inurnment will be at the Frazier Cemetery.

Jennifer Ruth Spicer
1959-2017


Jennifer R. Spicer, 58, of rural Hiawatha, died unexpectedly Saturday afternoon, September 9, 2017, shortly after arrival at Hiawatha Community Hospital.

A Celebration of Jennifer’s life is planned for 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 14, at the Christian Center in Hiawatha. Tony French will officiate. Cremation will follow services with inurnment at a later date at Claytonville Cemetery.

The family will meet with friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, Hiawatha.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to help with funeral expenses, sent in care of the funeral home, 124 S 7th St., Hiawatha 66434.

Jennifer was born at St. Joseph, MO, August 28, 1959, and was adopted by Roger and Beverly Jeffery Lowe when she was 8 or 9 years old and had lived in the Hiawatha area nearly all of her life. She grew up here where she attended Hiawatha schools .

Through the years, Jennifer attended the Christian Center in Hiawatha.

She married John Petersen in 1977 and was married 17 years, making their home at Tilden, NE, Hanover, PA, and Hiawatha, KS before divorcing. She later married Jim Spicer in 1996 and made their home south of town for 20 years. He survives.

Also surviving are her children Justin (Tanya) of Camden, SC, Jeff (Kristene) of Robinson, James (Sydney) of Hiawatha; Julie Petersen of Topeka; her mother Beverly & Tom Stone of Hiawatha; adopted siblings: Rod Lowe, Rob Lowe, Candy Johansen, Ruth Harmon, Kevin Stone, Donnie Stone, Marcy Hunning, Tiffany Crain, Cassie Dingledine; 13 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren. Her step children include Jamie Spicer and Elizabeth “Beth” Spicer. Her biological siblings include: Sheila Elbert, Greg McDowell, Robert Jeffers, Kim Brown, Jeanne Torrey, Georgia Lane, Rose Myers, and Diana Hall.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her biological mother Marilyn Dawson, step-son Billie Spicer, granddaughter Tyra White, and brother Toby Stone.

Sally Ann (Johnson) Patton
1946-2017


Sally Ann (Johnson) Patton, 71, Country Club, Missouri passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017.
She was born March 28, 1946 in St. Joseph, MO to Norman and Sarah (Calton) Johnson.
Sally married Gary Patton September 24, 1965, he survives of the home.
She was a member of Patee Park Baptist Church.
Sally enjoyed gardening, painting, water aerobics and loved her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Michael Vaughn.
Additional survivors include children, Brian Scott Patton (Nina), Robin Lance Patton (Mary) and Lindie Darlene Catlin (Brad); grandchildren, Kellan and Mira Patton, Kai-Ann, Ciara and Tyler Catlin, Tanner, Madelyn, Ivy and Rebekah Griffin; sisters, Jenny Crawford (Rob), Carol Wright; aunt, Mary Pryor.
