Partners in Primary Care to open senior-focused medical centers in Kansas and Missouri

KANSAS CITY, Kan. & KANSAS CITY, Mo.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Sep 13, 2017–Partners in Primary Care (Partners) is bringing innovative, senior-focused primary care to Kansas and Missouri with four medical centers planned to open next month.

Partners facilities will allow patients to receive many of their primary care needs, such as physician services, treatment, diagnostic testing, basic laboratory services and immunizations, conveniently in one location.

Each center will be staffed by board-certified physicians and care teams who have been specially trained to treat the senior population. These new centers will specialize in serving patients with Medicare Advantage. While some doctor’s offices may be limiting the number of Medicare Advantage patients they see, Partners is focused on this demographic and hopes to attract patients who may be feeling unsatisfied or underserved in their current situation.

Partners will work with patients and their families to provide support, remind patients of screenings and exams, thoroughly explain medical information and advocate for patients when communicating with specialists, hospitals and Medicare plans.

To improve medication adherence and streamline the communication process between doctors and patients, three of the four centers will have a retail pharmacy located within the clinic location. The pharmacy aims to provide Medicare Advantage and senior-patients with clinical support in the same building as their physician’s office.

In addition, each center will feature an activity center offering health education classes, fitness demonstrations and various activities.

The four centers—which will open in October—will be located in:

Independence: 19401 East 39th Street South, Independence, MO 64057
Wyandotte: 7527 State Ave, Kansas City, KS 66112
Mid-Town Kansas City: 301 E Armour Boulevard, Suite 2 East, Kansas City MO 64111
Olathe: 16575 W. 119th Street, Olathe, KS 66061

“The local community is in need of compassionate and personalized quality medical care that meets the needs and priorities of recipients of Medicare Advantage and the health care of seniors,” said Sue Lamb, Market Vice President of Partners in Primary Care. “We’re delighted to bring our innovative services to the Missouri and Kansas senior communities.”

The number of seniors in Missouri is expected to grow over the next several years to exceed 20 percent of the state’s population by 2030. 1 The senior population in Kansas also continues to grow, and the U.S. Census Bureau estimates that nearly 25 percent of the population in Kansas will be over the age of 60 by 2030. 2

To meet the rising need for health care delivery for residents, Partners has hired more than 100 employees in Kansas and Missouri to staff its four new innovative primary care centers. Partners is part of a larger family of primary care centers with more than 60 locations in Florida, South Carolina and Texas, along with another center scheduled to open in North Carolina later this fall. All Partners facilities specialize in offering services to recipients of Medicare Advantage.
