Mostly sunny with chance of rain tonight

Wednesday evening will bring another round of thunderstorms to the area. A few of these Wednesday evening storms could be strong with small hail and gusty winds being the primary threats. Otherwise expect summer-like temperatures and quiet weather through the weekend. Next round for thunderstorms comes early next week. Here’s the 7-day forecast from the National Weather Service: 

Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. South wind 8 to 14 mph becoming west northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Tonight: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 10 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. Northeast wind 6 to 8 mph becoming east southeast after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Thursday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 88. Heat index values as high as 96. South wind 7 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 72. South southeast wind 7 to 10 mph.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 88. South wind 7 to 11 mph.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 70.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 87.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 67.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 85.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 65.

Monday: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 80. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Monday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 60. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Tuesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 74. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
