Missouri American Water has donated a total of $3,600 in grant funding to three local emergency response agencies.

According to a release, this past week checks of $1,200 each were presented to the Regional H Hazmat Team, the St. Joseph Fire Department and the South Central Buchanan County Fire Department.

The Region H Hazmat Team is using the funds to purchase a projector for training.

The St. Joseph Fire Department will use the grant to purchase supplies for the Training Division to keep fire fighters current with the constantly changing standards and guidelines for both fire and medical services.

Missouri American said the Fire Fighter Grant Program is an annual program that provides grant opportunities to fire departments in its service area.
