Windy today with temps in the mid 50s

Northwest winds will be gusting to around 40 to 45 mph through the morning hours, but will gradually decrease through the afternoon hours. Relative humidity values will drop to around 30 to 40 percent, which will bring elevated fire danger. The first widespread freeze of the season is expected later this weekend, with lows on Saturday and Sunday expected to drop to well below freezing. Hard freeze conditions, consisting of lows below 28 degrees is possible north of I-70 in far northern Missouri. Wind chill values on these days could drop into the teens. Here’s the 7-day forecast from the National Weather Service:

 

Today: Sunny, with a high near 55. Breezy, with a north northwest wind 18 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 39 mph.

Tonight: Clear, with a low around 39. North northwest wind 7 to 17 mph becoming west after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 70. West northwest wind 7 to 9 mph.

Wednesday Night: Clear, with a low around 47. West southwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming south after midnight.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 68. South wind 7 to 14 mph becoming north northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 23 mph.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 36.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 46.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 30.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 49.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 30.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 55.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 36.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 58.
