Wind Chill Advisory in effect until 10 a.m.

The bitterly cold temperatures this morning won’t be nearly as bad by Thursday morning, and is just a sampling of what to expect this upcoming weekend. A Wind Chill Advisory remains in effect for northern Missouri into northern Kansas as wind chills continue to dip and remain below -15. High temperatures today are expected to range from the single digits to the upper teens, with lows tonight only dropping a few degrees as clouds move back into the area. While some flurries could be possible across northern Missouri overnight, no accumulating snow is anticipated. Here’s the 7-day forecast from the National Weather Service:

Today: Increasing clouds and cold, with a high near 13. Wind chill values between -7 and -17. Light and variable wind becoming east southeast 5 to 7 mph in the morning.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 11. Wind chill values between -1 and 4. Southeast wind around 8 mph.

Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 29. Southeast wind 5 to 7 mph becoming west northwest in the afternoon.

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 14. North wind 3 to 6 mph.

Friday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 23. North northeast wind 5 to 7 mph.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 7.

Saturday: A chance of snow before noon. Partly sunny and cold, with a high near 8. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Saturday Night: A chance of snow after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 1. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Sunday: A chance of snow before noon. Partly sunny and cold, with a high near 7. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around -10.

New Year’s Day: Mostly sunny and cold, with a high near 6.

Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around -1.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 23.
