Mo. woman dies after crash blamed on icy highway

BENTON COUNTY — A Missouri woman died in an accident just after 4p.m. Thursday in Benton County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2004 Chevy passenger vehicle driven by Mary J. Harms, 56, Lincoln, MO., was northbound on U.S. 56 just north of Frisch Road. The driver lost control of the vehicle on the ice-covered road. The vehicle crossed the center line and struck a 2006 Jeep Wrangler driven by Caleb J. Reno, 22, Warsaw.

 Harms was transported to Bothwell Hospital where she died. Reno was not injured. Both drivers were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the MSHP.
