HOWELL COUNTY — One person died in an accident just after 7:30p.m. Monday in Howell County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2003 Ford F250 driven by Dan C. Mcentire, 53, Hardy, AR., was southbound on U.S. 63 five miles west of Plains.

The driver lost control of the vehicle on the icy roadway. The truck traveled off the road, overturned and struck a tree.

A passenger Danny C. Mcentire, 34, Hardy, AR., was pronounced dead at the scene. Dan Mcentire was transported to Ozark Medical Center with minor injuries.

Both were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the MSHP.
