Police investigating after woman injured during robbery

Police are searching for a suspect after a woman was injured during a robbery at a South Belt business Friday night.

According to St. Joseph Police, around 9:30 p.m., a woman was closing up the Dollar Tree at 3202 South Belt Highway, when a man grabbed her purse, pulling her to the ground. She was hit in the face and the man took a firearm and wallet from the woman and fled on foot.

The suspect was described as being a light skinned black male wearing a blue hoodie with black stitching on it and jeans.
