DOUGLAS COUNTY— A Missouri woman died in an accident just before 10am. Wednesday in Douglas County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2001 Buick Century driven by Alexa S. Coonney, 26, Ava, was westbound on Mo. 76 three miles west of Ava.

The vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and the driver overcorrected. The vehicle returned to the road, traveled off the right side of the road and struck a tree.

Coonney was pronounced dead at the scene. She was properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the MSHP.
