Bethany woman seriously injured in crash on icy road

A Bethany woman was seriously injured in a crash due to icy conditions. 

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, at 8:40 Tuesday morning, 26-year-old Kayla M. Ramey was driving a Chevrolet Cruz east on US 136 about four miles west of Bethany. Ramey lost control of the vehicle on the ice-covered road, slid off the north side of the road and hit a mailbox and an embankment. The vehicle went airborne, hit the ground, rolled and hit a fence before coming to rest on its top.

Ramey was transported to Harrison County Hospital, then to The University of Kansas Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.

According to the crash report, Ramey was wearing a seatbelt.
