
(Update 11 a.m. Thursday) Fire crews were on the scene of two separate fires overnight.
Shortly before 10 p.m. Wednesday, a call came in reporting a fire at 3022 Messanie. According to St. Joseph Fire Department Fire Inspector Steve Henrichson, the fire had possibly been burning inside the house for about four hours before it was reported. Henrichson said the vacant building was starting to collapse as crews arrived on scene. No injuries were reported and crews were on scene until 1:04 a.m. Thursday.
Another fire was reported at 2:31 Thursday morning at 801 South 20th. Henrichson said the single family house was vacant and no injuries were reported. Crews were on scene until 4:36 a.m.
The cause of each fire is under investigation.
