ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Transportation announced the appointment of Chris Redline as the new district engineer for the Northwest District, effective March 6, 2018.

According to a press release, before his promotion, Redline had successfully served as the assistant district engineer in the Kansas City District since 2004. His responsibilities included program delivery, operations and administrative teams. He began his career with the department over 26 years ago as a construction inspector. Additionally, he has held positions as a resident engineer and area engineer.

Redline led the Kansas City District’s effort to identify pavement, bridge, traffic and operational needs while continually developing the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). Redline brings both urban and rural experience to his new role, along with the understanding of the financial challenges all rural areas of Missouri face. While in Kansas City, he was involved in the Buck O’Neil Bridge funding and Environmental Assessment processes and was actively involved with stakeholders in the region.

“I’m anxious to hear (resident’s) thoughts and to work on innovative solutions and local partnerships to tackle the transportation challenges Missouri faces,” Redline said.

The Northwest District includes 20 counties in Northern Missouri, with over 10,000 square miles 5,263 miles of roadway, and a population of 364,205.

Redline attended Kansas State University earning a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and is a registered professional engineer in Missouri.
