WATHENA,KS Lloyd L. Hamilton, 93, of Wathena, Kansas died Saturday, March 3, 2018.
Lloyd was born on October 18, 1924 in Holdrege, Nebraska to James F. and Ruth (Young) Hamilton. Lloyd served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He and his wife lived all of their married life in Wathena where Lloyd worked for and retired from the Union Pacific Railroad.
Lloyd married Emma Bowen in 1949 in Troy, Kansas. She preceded him in death on May 11, 2008. He was also preceded by his parents.
Lloyd is survived by 2 daughters; Mary Margaret Wood of Raytown, Missouri;
Billie Marie Davies of Belle Plaine, Iowa;
5 grandchildren.
FUNERAL: Thursday, March 8, 2018 – 2:00 P.M.

Burial: Bellemont Cemetery in Wathena where there will be a flag folding ceremony under the auspices of the American Post #161 in Wathena.

Doris Shelton 90, of Saint Joseph, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018 in Saint Joseph. She was born September 8, 1927 in DeKalb, MO, daughter of Lucille and Paul Sharp. She graduated from DeKalb High School class of 1948. She enjoyed Crocheting, scrap booking, and spending time with family. She was a member of and DeKalb Christian Church. Doris was preceded in death by father, Paul Henderson Sharp, mother, Lucille A. Sharp, brother, Jim Sharp, granddaughter, Julie Shelton and husband James M. Shelton. Survivors include, sister, Eunice McConnell of Independence, MO, step daughter, Mary (David) Guethle, daughter, Lois Ohlensehlen of Saint Joseph, son, James Edward (JoAnna) Shelton of DeKalb, daughter, Laura Shelton (Scott Denlinger) of Lancaster, PA; grandsons, Bryan Ohlensehlen, Dustin Ohlensehlen, Mike Shelton, Eric (Chelsee) Shelton, Nicholas Denlinger, Andreas Denlinger and 9 Great-Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Rupp Funeral Home, Pastor David Jordan officiating, The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Marion L. Mihelich
1938-2018
Marion L. Mihelich 79, of St. Joseph, Missouri was called home on March 4, 2018. She had a strong faith in the Lord, with whom she is now celebrating in all his love and glory. She was born to the late Cecil and Fern Baker on December 2, 1938 in St. Joseph, MO. She was a 1956 graduate of Lafayette High School and she worked at Westab, in St. Joseph. She became a child care provider out of her home while being a full-time mom to her three children and wife to her husband of 50 years. She later worked as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher at Wyatt Park Baptist Church, from which she retired. She married Stephen Mihelich on August 5, 1967, and he survives of the home. She dearly loved her family and cherished all the children that passed through her life. She enjoyed bowling in her younger years and was an avid reader. She had a talent for drawing and crafting. Marion was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include, daughters, Paula Mihelich, St. Joseph, MO, and Becky (Tommy) Burkhart, Cameron, MO, son, Joe Mihelich, St. Joseph, MO, grandchildren: Dylan Westcott, Gracie White, Devon Burkhart, Haylie Brown, Ryan Burkhart, Trevor Burkhart, Hannah Burkhart, and Wyatt Burkhart, 5 great grandchildren, sisters, Joyce Richardson, St. Joseph, MO, and Carol Lough, Corpus Christie, TX. and several nieces and nephews.

John Wayne Bailey
1935-2018
John Wayne Bailey, 82, of Rushville, MO, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at his home in Branson, MO.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Friday, March 9, 2018 at the Eastside Baptist Church, St. Joseph, MO, with Rev. Larry Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow at Sugar Creek Cemetery, Rushville, MO. John was born December 7, 1935, in Kansas City, MO, the son of Bernard and Ruth (Pitts) Bailey. He lived most of his life on the family farm in Rushville, MO. Out of high school, he joined the United States Air Force and served our country for twenty years and retired. John then worked for three different railroads and retired. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in St. Joseph, MO. John loved hunting and fishing and taking care of the family farm in Rushville.
John married Patricia Brown mother of his six children in 1954, he married Gloria Helphrey in 1984, she preceded him in death in 2015, he married Renita Brewer in 2016, and she survives of the home. Additional survivors include four sons, Rickey and Carol Bailey, Bernard and Mary Bailey, of Rushville, MO, John Phillip and Barbara Bailey, Lindsey and Jill Bailey, of St. Joseph, MO, step-son Timothy Helphrey, Branson, MO, a sister, Judy Myscofski, Atchison, KS, fifteen grandchildren twenty-six great grandchildren and two nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, daughters, Donna Bailey, Virginia Rose Bailey and an infant brother.
Norman Lewis Miller

Norman Lewis Miller 73, of Saint Joseph, Missouri died Sunday March 4, 2018 in Saint Joseph. Born January 3, 1945, St. Joseph, Missouri son of the late Sylvia & Lewis Miller. He owned an Antique store, and worked at Crown delivery, and was a painter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Marie Miller, son, Tony Miller, brother, Howard Miller, sisters, Sylvia Ione, Norma Miller, and Alice Croner. Survivors: sons, Tim and Ricky Miller, 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, brother, Marvin Miller of St. Joseph, MO, sisters, Iva (Corky) Lukehart, Ava Matthews, and Evelyn McGlothlin. Charles Francis Bennett 89, of Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away, Monday, March 5, 2018 in Saint Joseph, MO. He was born November 26, 1928 in Halls, MO, son of the late Effie (Ebling) and Omar Bennett. Charles married Erma A. Hawkins, on February 23, 1946, they were married 52 years, and she preceded him in death in 1998. He was also preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Elmer, Virgil, and Elbert Bennett, sisters, Ora Conley, and Flora Jordan, half sister, Viola Brecheisen, and son in law Steve Baber. Survivors include daughters, Dimple (Tim) Purvis, Diana (Artie) Wright, and Debi Baber (Charles Noland), brother-in-law, Farold Jordan, Charlene Brunk his companion of 13 years, 7 grandchildren: LaRae Bird, Niche Dorrel, Casey Fry, Rebecca Smith, Charles Linville, Jay Baber, and Nathan Wright, 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren. Eleanor M. Sadowski
1928-2018
HOLTON – Eleanor M. Sadowski, 89, of Holton, died Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at her daughter’s home.
She was born November 7, 1928 in Newton, the daughter of Cecil and Velna Cummings McFarlane. She graduated from Newton High School in 1947.
Eleanor was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Holton, the Altar Society at the church, a former member of the Mary Ann Circle, and had sang in the church choir. She had been a Girl Scout and a Boy Scout Leader.
She married Gerald J. “Coach” Sadowski on December 14, 1947 at Newton. He died January 22, 1998.
Eleanor was also preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Meier, a son, Bryan Sadowski, a granddaughter, Jamie Lee Sadowski, three brothers, K.C. McFarlane, Jack McFarlane and Jim McFarlane, and a sister, Katherine Brown.
Survivors include three sons, Gary Sadowski (Mindy) and Tim Sadowski (Linda G.), all of Emporia, and Stan Sadowski (Brenda), Ozawkie; five daughters, Linda Sadowski, Silver Lake, Sandra Sadowski (Max), Topeka, and Marie Katz (Dave), Kathy Morris (Bruce) and Marsha Taylor (Larry), all of Holton; two sisters, Ann Brooks, Newton and Betty Jo Gheen, in California; twenty-one grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 10th at St. Dominic Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery at Holton. Eleanor will lie in state Friday at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m., followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Johnson Cancer Research at KSU, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Velma T. Miller

Velma Miller, 105, of Atchison, KS, passed away Tuesday, March 06, 2018, at the Atchison Senior Village.

Velma was born December 27, 1912 in Holdenville, OK, the daughter of John and Ida (Carney) Talley. She was a seamstress. Velma enjoyed reading her bible, quilting and baking for people.
Survivors include two daughters; Norma Conner, Payson, AZ, Karen Barber, Atchison, KS, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son Bill Miller, seven brothers, six sisters and two sons-in-law, John Barber and Burt Conner.
James J.B. Goss
1926-2018
TROY,KANSAS James J.B. Goss, 91, of Troy, Kansas passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2018.
J.B. was born on October 21, 1926 in Troy, Kansas to Harry B. and Bessie (Smith) Goss.
He is a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bendena, Kansas, American Legion Post #55 and Masonic Lodge #55 both of Troy and the Moila Shrine Temple of St. Joseph, Missouri. J.B. worked for the Postal Service as a clerk for 44 years.
J.B. married Anna Gotti on November 23, 1950 in Salina, Kansas. She survives of the home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Edward Goss and two sisters, Elanore “Susie” Cassel and Doris Grigsby.
Survivors include his children; son, Timothy Goss (Kelley), Troy, Kansas.
Daughter, Julie Parks (Chris), Troy, Kansas.

David Alan Krull 83, of Saint Joseph, Missouri passed away Tuesday March 6, 2018 at Mosaic Life Care hospital. He was born January 1, 1935 in St. Joseph, Missouri son of the late Anna & Julius Krull. He married Leonida “Lonnie” Hayes Krull on February 4, 1956, and she survives of the home. He graduated from Benton High School class of 1953 and worked at Polsky Motors as a Service Technician. He liked working on everything, particularly cars, and restored his old Ford truck, he was a handyman and enjoyed music and classic movies.
He was a member of , and Southside Congregation. David was preceded in death by his father, Julius Krull, mother, Anna Krull, Infant Sister.
