MAPLEWOOD, Mo. (AP) – A former Missouri lawmaker accused of pulling a gun on a motorist during a road-rage incident has gotten probation.

Russell Gunn, 69, will serve two years’ probation after pleading guilty in February to a reduced charge of third-degree assault.
Gunn is a Democrat from Northwoods who served eight years in the Missouri House, leaving in 2000.
Prosecutors say the incident began Feb. 23, 2016, when a pickup truck merged in front of Gunn’s BMW. Gunn moved back in front of the pickup and allegedly slammed his brakes twice, causing collisions.
Police say Gunn stopped, grabbed a handgun and walked to the truck, then hit the pickup driver in the head with the gun, which discharged and sent a bullet through the pickup’s roof.
