Crash due to snow-covered road results in serious injuries

A crash in Daviess County due to snow-covered roads Sunday seriously injured two people.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, at 2:51 p.m. Sunday, 49-year-old Angelina Aban Yor of Kirksville was driving a Saturn Aura east on M-6 about five miles east of Gallatin and 26-year-old Ashley N. Waldron of Plattsburg was driving a Dodge Stratus westbound. Aban Yor lost control of her vehicle on the snow-covered road, crossed the center line and hit Waldron’s vehicle head on. Both vehicles spun 180 degrees before coming to rest.

Waldron and a passenger in her vehicle, 26-year-old Matthew C. Morgan of Plattsburg, were transported to hospitals for treatment of serious injuries. Morgan was not wearing a seatbelt.

A nine-month-old child in Waldron’s vehicle was transported to Cameron Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. According to the crash report, the child was spared serious injury by being properly secured in a child safety seat.
