Police: Convicted burglar caught behind NE Kansas home

SHAWNEE COUNTY— Law enforcement authorities are investigating a series of  burglaries and have made an arrest.

Just before 12:30a.m. Tuesday, police in the area of SW 21st St and SW Webster in Topeka were investigating a report of three people possibly burglarizing vehicles, according to Lt. Ron Ekis.

Officers attempted to contact the three subjects who then fled on foot. Offices captured one of the suspects, 20-year-old Cody Jon Brown behind a residence in the 3400 block of SW 21st Street.

He was booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections for conspiracy to commit burglary and interference with law enforcement officers.

Brown has three previous convictions for burglary, theft and drugs.
