Results have been released from a DWI saturation conducted in all counties of Troop H.

According to a news release, the saturation was held from 3 p.m. on April 21, to 3 a.m. on April 22.

During the enforcement operation, eight officers patrolled assigned counties in Troop H with a goal of detecting impaired drivers and other traffic violations that contribute to traffic crashes.

According to Captain James E. McDonald, commanding officer of Troop H, St. Joseph, as a result, there were four arrests for driving while intoxicated, 45 traffic citations issued, three misdemeanor drug arrests, and 74 warnings given. Officers also assisted 11 motorists and investigated one traffic crash.

“Impaired driving poses a significant threat to motorists on Missouri’s roadways,” Captain McDonald said. “One of the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s highest priorities is removing the impaired driver from our roadways. If drinking is part of your plans, choose a sober designated driver.”
