COOPER COUNTY — One person died in an accident just after 2:30p.m. Thursday in Cooper County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2007 Dodge Durango driven by Willard E. Meyer, 95, Jefferson City, was southbound on Route O just south of Swan Road. The vehicle traveled off the right side of the road struck a large rock, several trees and overturned.

Meyer was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Howards Funeral Home. He was properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the MSHP.
