Keith Douglas Crawford
1952-2018
Keith Crawford 65, of St. Joseph, passed away May 4, 2018 at Mosaic Life Care. He was born July 11, 1952 in Bristow, OK, to Doris and Donald Crawford. In 1970, he graduated from East Buchanan High School. He married Ruth McCullough June 24, 1972. He was a Truck Driver for 26 years for Yellow Freight. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, spending time with his dogs and most of all spending time with his wife, Ruth. Keith was preceded in death by father, Donald Crawford. Survivors include, wife, Ruth Crawford, mother, Doris Crawford, sons, Scott Crawford and Matthew (Jessica) Crawford, sister, Brenda Kay McElwain, brother, Tommy (Mary) Crawford, granddaughters, Shelby Lynn (Michael Palmer), Angela Dawn, Lore Lai Rose, Kaitlyn, Hailey,and family friend, Danita Gumbert.
Mr. Crawford has been cremated under the care of Rupp Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Rupp Funeral Home.

David Franklin Stansberry
1951-2018
David Franklin Stansberry, 67, of Effingham, KS formerly of Beatrice, NE died on Monday, May 7th, 2018
at the Mosaic Life Center in St. Joseph, MO following a fight with Leukemia.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date in Beatrice NE with family and friends. David was born on April 9, 1951 in San Antonio, TX the son of Floyd R. and Wilma L. (Garner) Stansberry. He graduated from Trezevant High School, Memphis, TN in 1969. David worked in several different positions and companies including American Tool, and Husqvarna in Beatrice NE, and as a machine operator for Nestle-Purina, Crete, NE and St. Joseph, MO. He and his wife moved to Effingham, Kansas in Sept. 2014. David was a member of CERT (Certified Emergency Response Team), was a Union member and enjoyed yard work, hunting and especially fishing.
He was married to Christine L. Sorensen on April 29, 1996. Mrs. Stansberry survives of the home in Effingham. Additional survivors include a daughter, Amie (Josh) Martin, Lincoln, NE, step-daughter, Jennifer O’Brien, Effingham, KS, step-son, William Hahn, Fremont, NE, two brothers, Floyd “Butch” and Richard Stansberry, both of Beatrice, NE, and seven grandchildren. His parents, and one sister, preceded him in death.
James Everett Elder

James Everett Elder 71, of Saint Joseph, Missouri passed away Tuesday May 8, 2018 at Mosaic Life Care hospital. He was born January 20, 1947 in Wathena, Kansas son of the late Vivian & Luther Elder. He worked at Affiliated Foods, and was a History teacher & coached at various Kansas schools. He loved sports, and was a football player in at Emporia State College. He was a member of Teamster Union. Jim was preceded in death by his companion, Patsy Coffey, his parents, and brother, Eugene Elder. Survivors include brother, Larry Elder, Salinas, CA, sisters, Marlene (Joe) Keith, King City, MO, Linda (Ron) Renfro,Kissimee, Janette (Harold) Thornton, St. Joseph, Roberta (Ronn) Munstermann, IA, Debbie (Bob) Brown, Kansas City, MO, and Dianna (Cecil) Hicks. Geraldine Harless

Geraldine “Jerry” Harless 91, of Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018 in Saint Joseph, MO. She was born August 16, 1926 in St. Joseph, MO, daughter of the late Jessie and Orville Tuey. She worked at K-Mart and was a homemaker. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the RLDS Church. Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Raymond Harless, son, Terry Harless, sisters Darline Caw, brothers; Lynn, Ralph and Guy “Junior” Tuey. Survivors include, son, Robert “Bob” (Mary) Harless, Saint Joseph, MO, grandchildren: Cody Harless, Jamie (Billy) Woosley, Kelly (Chad) Chaney, and Holly Cress (Bryce Dixon), nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Marcia Rose Buehler
1941-2018
TOPEKA – Marcia Rose Buehler, 77, of Topeka, died Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at the Midland Hospice House in Topeka.
She was born April 28, 1941 in Newton, the daughter of Gilbert and RoseMary Sager Ullman.
Marcia worked as a secretary and receptionist at the Topeka Blood Bank for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Ricky Banister, who died in 1992, and a brother, Robert Ullman.
Survivors include three daughters, Debra Whitmore (Jimmy), Onaga, Lisa Foster (Allen), Burlingame, and Teresa Bender, Topeka; a sister, Cheryl Hawes, Emporia; ten grandchildren and thirty-five great grandchildren.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 17th at the Netawaka Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Midland Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association, and may be sent in care of the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1034, Holton, 66436.
Ruth Emma Jones
1926-2018
Ruth Emma Jones, 91, passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 9, 2018 at the Apostolic Christian Home in Sabetha, KS. She was born December 4, 1926 at the family home in White Cloud, Kansas. She was the daughter of Cora (Schuler) and Herbert Lehman. Ruth grew up in White Cloud area and graduated from White Cloud High School. She graduated from Highland Community College and furthered her education and graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a teaching degree. Her teaching career covered 41 years which included teaching at Grandview Country School, White Cloud Elementary, Robinson Elementary, and Hiawatha Elementary. While at Hiawatha Elementary she was honored as teacher of the year.
Ruth married Glen C. “Junior” Jones on February 5, 1946. They spent most of their married life in the Zion and Robinson communities and then they later moved to Hiawatha. He preceded her in death in 2012.
She was very active in the Zion and Hiawatha Methodist Churches. She held various offices in the church and in the First United Methodist Women’s Organization. She was very well known for her devotions. She was currently a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hiawatha.
Ruth was known for her faith in God, love of family, her sweet thoughtful, and gentle spirit, and her sense of humor.
She is survived by one son: Jim (Teresa) Jones of Robinson, two daughters; Wanda (Randy) Scraper of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Marla (Wayne) Olson of Hiawatha; seven grandchildren; Jacqui (Kraig) Stites, Janelle (Chris) Veith, Jeff (Melinda) Jones, Heather (Jon) Oden, Matt (Kate) Scraper, Stephanie (Phil) Greenwald, Kyle (Sarah) Olson, Kristan (Aaron) Todd; Nineteen great grandchildren with one on the way, several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, June Rush, one brother in infancy and one great grandson, Jacob Oden.
Funeral Services are planned for 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church in Hiawatha with interment following at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home after 10 a.m. Friday, May 11, 2018 in Hiawatha, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 pm. to 8:00 p.m. that evening. Jimmy Joe Mace
1969-2018
Jimmy Joe Mace 49, of St Joseph, passed away Tuesday May 8, 2018 at his residence.
He was born April 2, 1969 in Warsaw, Missouri son of JoAnn & Dennis Mace Sr. He attended Mid-Buchanan School. Jim worked for 20 years at Snorkel. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and especially bowling. He was a member of the 300 and 800 club and recently inducted to Missouri State USBC Bowlers Hall of Fame.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Edwin Mace Sr., brother, Alan Mace, sister, Denise Mace, grandparents, Charles & Nadine Plummer and nephew, Joshua Crossfield. He is survived by his mother, JoAnn Mace, children, Ashley Watkins and Anthony Watkins, mother of his children, Teresa Garrett, brothers, Joey Mace and Dennis Mace Jr., sister, Dena Crossfield, step-children, Makayla O’Hare, Jayden Payton and Jason Payton Jr., grandson, Hunter Parker, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Mace has been cremated under the care of Rupp Funeral Home.
The family would like to express their appreciation for the Mosaic Hospice team, especially Jason and Kim for the care they provided.

She was born March 6, 1966.
Preceded in death by: mother, Patricia Hochstetler; great-grandfather, Don Hochstetler; grandparents, Clarance and Mable Purstey, Arthur and Hester Butcher.
Survived by: parents, Vernon and Sharon Lawrence; sisters, Pamela Sartin, Clinton, Missouri, & Stacy Simeri, Murfreesboro, Tennessee; brothers, Matt (Jamiee) Lawrence, St. Joseph & Richard (Christy) Adkins, St. Joseph; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Katy Hoffman.
She is being cremated and a family ceremony will be at a later date.
Jessie M. McKittrick
1926-2018
Jessie M. McKittrick, 91, of Highland, previously of Troy, passed away on May 12, 2018. She was born November 1, 1926 in Bendena to John and Ella Roderick McKittrick. She attended Bendena schools. Jessie was a telephone operator in Bendena and Troy and had also worked at her brother’s restaurant, John’s Bakery in Troy.
She was a member of the Troy Christian Church.
Survivors include a nephew, Dennis McKittrick, his wife, Freda and their family of Troy; a niece, Lori Franken, her husband, Steve and their family of Topeka; and a sister-in-law, Carol McKittrick of Topeka. Jessie was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, John (Evelyn) and Richard.
Funeral services will be at Harman Rohde Funeral Home in Troy on Wednesday, May 16 at 11 AM. Burial will be at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Troy. Jessie will lie in state at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 15 after 12 noon with family receiving friends and relatives from 10 to 11 AM the day of the funeral.
